Abstract:
After the publication of a report (R. & M. 2631) on the derivation of airworthiness performance climb standards, various subsidiary points raised in the course of discussions were examined. Some of these have been collected together in the present note. They are in the nature of elaborations of the original method and include a refined method of deriving the take-off climb standard, a method of treating interdependence of engine failure and a method for including the effect of sideslip in the margin allowed for pilotage errors. The main principles set forth in the earlier report remain unaffected.
