Summary. Part I of this report describes the construction of ponds laid down on the runway at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Bedford, in which a number of different aircraft have been tested for drag in slush and water and for water ingestion into engine intakes. The method of testing is described with some of the problems and solutions. Some suggestions and recommendations are made for future improvements. |
