ESDUview user manual. (00009)

ESDU 00009 describes the installation details, hardware requirements and configuration details of ESDUview, a general interface or shell program designed primarily to run ESDU software. The program allows:

• the running of ESDU application programs, known as VIEWpacs, that enable input data files to be prepared via windows-type screen prompts for subsequent use by ESDU computer programs, known as ESDUpacs,
• the provision of context-sensitive help and other relevant information associated with the variables pertinent to the ESDUpac programs
• the running of error checks associated with the data required by the ESDUpac
• the subsequent running of the ESDUpac executable code
• the viewing of the output file (or files ) within an Editor window
• the return to the VIEWpac for further runs of both VIEWpac and ESDUpac.

ESDU Computer Programs. Part 1: Introduction. (04013)

The various types of ESDU computer programs are introduced in this Item. ESDU computer programs fall into two categories, Fortran codes, both source and compiled, that are known as ESDUpacs, and executable programs of various types that run within or include a 'user-friendly' interface that are generically known as VIEWpacs. VIEWpacs come in a variety of types as follows:

• ESDUview VIEWpacs
• Java VIEWpacs
• Winteracter and Interacter VIEWpacs
• Delphi VIEWpacs
• PowerBasic VIEWpacs
• Excel VIEWpacs
