This company specialises in the design and manufacture of aerial delivery and safety / survival equipment. Canadian company whose site includes descriptions and specifications for optical sighting equipment and tactical and small-bore rifles.


Aviation Security International : the Journal of Airport and Airline Security

This bimonthly magazine covers security issues within the aviation industry. Although only subscribers can view the full text of the magazine, there is a considerable amount of content that can be viewed free of charge. This includes the editorial of each issue and 'Airwatch', a record of incidents of hijacks, attempted hijacks, air rage, sabotage and airport attacks. A buyers guide provides details of suppliers of products such as weapons detector devices, access control products and baggage reconciliation equipment. The site also provides DVDs, CDs, Books, Restraint kits and IED Testing kits. They also hold a number of seminars as part of the green light initiative.


Bombardier Aerospace

Bombardier is the third largest airframe manufacturer in the world, and is based in Canada. The company manufactures regional, business and amphibious aircraft, and the site contains images and specifications of these products. The site also provides information about Bombardier's defence services - fleet management and aviation training management. Several full text newsletters are accessible from the site. These are 'Regional Update', back to January/February 1997 in PDF format, 'Bombardier Aerospace World' back to Spring 1998 in HTML format, and 'Initial Attack' back to Autumn 1993 also in HTML format. There is also an investor relations area containing share prices, financial information and company news.


C-17 Globemaster III

Factsheet on the C17 Globemaster transport aircraft from Air Force Link (US). The UK Royal Air Force took delivery of the new aircraft, ZZ175, from the Boeing plant in San Antonio, Texas, where it went for additional work following the 'Fly Away' ceremony at Long Beach, California, in February 2008. ZZ175 has joined 99 Squadron at RAF Brize Norton and is the first C-17 of the five to be owned outright by the RAF, the previous aircraft having been operated under a leasing arrangement from manufacturer Boeing. However, as the lease terminates later this year, the other four aircraft will then transfer to full RAF ownership. C-17s frequently demonstrate their flexibility by carrying loads including up to three Warrior armoured vehicles, three Apache attack helicopters, 13 Land Rovers, a Chinook helicopter, or even Tornado F3 fighters, allowing the RAF to get the right equipment to theatre rapidly.

This is a joint Kyrgyz-Russian Enterprise company for the procurement, sale and buying of helicopters, KAMAZ trucks, spare parts and other techniques. For each model of helicopter technical data is provided and suitable applications are described.

Founded in 1999, this high tech American company is a global leader in polymeric nanofiber manufacturing technology; this is the material used for NBC protective clothing. The site provides information on products, technology, the company, careers, and contact information.


Evans and Sutherland

Evans and Sutherland (E&S) manufactures hardware and software 3D synthetic worlds for commercial and defence purposes. Its products include visual systems for simulation, training and virtual reality applications. The site contains product information on its software, displays, image generators, digital theater, and mission command trainer; news about latest E&S technology and a news archive to 2003; details on the company, careers, corporate events, patents and history.


General Dynamics

Supplier of sophisticated defence systems and a provider of advanced business aircraft to corporate, government and individual owners. The company has four business sectors: Aerospace, who design and manufacture business aircraft; Combat Systems who supply land and amphibious combat machines; Information Systems and Technology which deals with optical and signal processing systems, surveillance and telecommunications; Marine Systems who design and build submarines, surface combatants, auxiliary ships and commercial vessels. HK Defense

This is the web site for the defence arm of Heckler and Koch, Heckler & Koch Defense Inc., a producer of small arms for the armed forces, police and security forces since 1949. The site provides information on the HK Defense Training Group and details of their courses; a technical data section contains user manuals for the USP, Mark 23 and UMP submachine gun. There are also sections on military programmes and federal operations, which contain details on various handguns, supressed handguns, rifles and carbines, personal defence weapons, submachine guns, special application products and sniper rifles. Each weapon has a picture, information about its design and specifications.


Honeywell Space and Aviation Control

Information about the cockpit avionics, navigation systems and sensors developed for commercial, military and space markets. The site provides information on its products, employment opportunities, and press releases which includes a graphics library and background materials.


Link Simulation and Training

This site is provided by L3 Communications, a leading merchant supplier to aerospace, military and commercial companies. The simulation and training branch of L3 Communications is a lead supplier, producer, researcher and educator in this field. The site provides information on products developed specifically for the army, navy and air force as well as for commercial ventures such as aircrew. It gives full text product data sheets, news and a history of the company.


MS&T : The International Defence Training Journal

Published by Halldale Media, MS&T, or Military Simulation and Training, is a journal for the defence training and simulation industry. The journal contains articles with a national focus, instructional design insights, in-service reports, defence training policies and the latest news defence industry news. The site contains information about the journal, subscription details, media information and a summary of the next issue. There is also a digital issues section which provides access to the full text of the journal from issue two, 2005 onwards.


Sonatech

An underwater acoustic systems development organisation which is a subsidiary of Channel Technologies, based in California. It is concerned with analysis, design, and manufacture of underwater acoustic systems for: communication, ocean navigation, sonars, noise-measurement hydrophone arrays, signal processing, and tracking. WZM - WOLVERINE 8x8 Vehicles, Upgrade and Modernisation of Military Vehicles

A technical brief containing background on the latest UK military vehicle in use in Afghanistan (April 2008).
