Munitions Air Force Research Laboratory The United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is situated at Wright- Patterson Air Force Base. The paper warns against the use of cluster bombs by Allied forces during the 2003 Iraq War. Evidence of the dangers of this type of weapon for the civilian population is presented from the 1991 Gulf War. Munitions Safety Information Analysis Center (MSIAC) Newsletter This site provides the full text of the quarterly newsletter of MSIAC from 2000 to the present in PDF format. Formerly know as the NATO Insensitive Munitions Information Center (NIMIC), MSIAC's aim is to aid NATO countries in improving the safety of weapons and weapon platforms in combat and peacekeeping operations. It supports the military, governments, industry and academia through its technical analysis. The site links to the MSIAC homepages. It examines the use of particular types of weapons during the NATO bombing campaign against the Federal republic of Yugoslavia. Their adverse effect on the number of casualties and conditions experienced by civilians are detailed. |
