History of conflict - Chechnya American Committee for Peace in Chechnya The American Committee for Peace in Chechnya (ACPC), is a privately funded committee whose aim is to raise awareness about the crisis in Chechnya and to promote a peaceful resolution to the war with Russia. The site contains the latest news about the situation and a news archive. There are full-text United States policy papers and articles relating to the US role in Chechnya, full-text academic papers about the region, maps and photos of the conflict. It provides news from the Russian and Chechen sides, and profiles of the key people involved in the conflict. Foreign Policy Aspects of the War Against Terrorism : Seventh Report of Session 2003-04 This site provides access to the full text pdf version of the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee report, HC 441-I, pubished on 29th July 2004. It is part of a continuing assessment on the War on Terrorism and it follows on from previous reports which look at the international terrorist threat (HC 81 session 2003-04, HC 405 session 2002-03, HC 196 session 2002-03 and HC 384 session 2001-02). Russia's Chechen Wars 1994-2000: Lessons from Urban Combat This website provides access to the full text of a book written by Olga Oliker which was published by RAND in 2001. It examines the Chechnya conflict in the period 1994-2000, focusing specifically on the region of Grozny. The book makes particular reference to examining the difficulties the Russian military faced in planning and carrying out urban missions during the war. Users will need adobe acrobat reader to view the full text. Small Wars Journal This site is a web portal and online resource for small wars researchers. The site provides access to the full text of the journal SWJ Magazine.
